Soldier Minions are a type of Minion featured in the Despicable Me franchise, specifically first appearing in Despicable Me 2 (2013). They are regular Minions who have been transformed into mutated, purple, aggressive creatures.

The transformation occurs when the Minions are exposed to the PX-41 serum. This serum, intended to be a powerful weapon, instead turns the typically cheerful and bumbling Minions into nearly indestructible, menacing versions of themselves.

These Soldier Minions retain some of their original Minion characteristics, like their language and general shape, but their loyalty shifts from Gru to whoever controls the PX-41 serum. They are a formidable threat until a cure is found, reverting them to their normal, banana-loving selves.
